The mornig sunlight softly kissing her face faintly while she sleeps soundly. Soft breeze whistles through the balcony making her hair blow. Laying down on the bed in a very comfortable position, dreaming about her unknown love. She sleeps peacefully. Her face glowing like a dream.
Suddenly, a loud thud sound of door opening came, making her flinch badly and waking up only to see her mother switching off the AC and fan.
"Aren't you gonna wake up, it's already 9 and your college starts at 10. You don't want to get late on your first day right" her mother says. "Noor!" she continued "common baby wake up it's late now."
"I woke up mumma."
"Get up, get....up."
"Okay mumma"
Her mother woke her up and sent her to the bathroom to get fresh
"Yeh ladki kabhi nahi sudhregi"
(This girl will never understand)
"Agar sudhar gai to mai Noor nahi" sarcastic voice came from the bathroom.
(If I understood then I won't be Noor)
.. .. .. .. ..
Getting dressed, applying a soft tinted make up. Pouting her lips. Adoring herself she looked in the mirror and kissed herself.
"Kya lag rhi hai Noor, ummaahh"
(Looking good Noor, ummaahh)
"Mumma, aaj khane Mai kya hai."
(Mumma what's for breakfast today)
"Tera favourite aalu ka paratha bana hai."
(I have made your favourite, Aalu ka paratha.)
"Wow mumma, I love you"
"Love you too mera bachha"
Having enough breakfast, she headed to her college by listening to the melodious music."
.. .. .. .. ..
Lost in thoughts about her first day of college, Noor pushed through the heavy iron gate, her mind already in the first lecture. A sudden jarring impact brought her back to reality. She collided hard with what felt like a wall and stumbled backward, hands flailing.
Strong hands, warm even through her jacket sleeves, griped her elbow to steady her. She gasped, her breath catching as she looked up. He was close. Too close. His eyes, the colour of sea glass, met herself, a faint scent of rain and cedar filling her senses. A warmth, sudden and intrusive, spread her chest.
Noor snatched herself back, her cheeks burning. "My fault." She managed, the words colder than she intended. "Sorry." This was absurd. Just an adrenaline rush, she told herself, even as her gaze flickered back to his face for a fraction of a second. She turned sharply, quicking her pace towards the main building, forcing her mind back to her class schedule, but the echo of his touch lingered on her arms.
Just as she was about to enter her college lecture theatre, a person in his 60's, looking Sharp. Tall and elegant. Like an owner. Called the man she met a minute ago.
"Siddharth."
Ohh! So his name is Siddharth. She thought herself. But without paying much attention to their conversation she entered the lecture theatre.
.. .. .. .. ..
Days passed. Noor got to know about him. He is the son of the owner of the medical College she is studying. Siddharth. The name only felt like a butterfly. He comes regularly to the college for his father. He never noticed her. but She noticed all.
Everyday, she sat across for him. She never said a word about the way her heart jumped when he smiled. She kept her feelings locked in a small box inside her mind. To the world, he was just a stranger and the owner's son. To her, he had became something to her. Even more than something.
Then the world shifted. The quiet days ended. Years passed in a blur of moving trucks and heavy textbooks. She now became a good surgeon doctor. Silently loved by all her patients for her bubbly nature. Curing them with empathy. The white coat defining her new life. Her old life faded away like a photography left in the sun.
